About the position

The Bilingual Research Assistant (Spanish/English) position at Vanderbilt University is a part-time role within the Department of Special Education. The assistant will support a federally funded research project by administering assessments to elementary-age children, collecting data, and ensuring adherence to research protocols. This role is crucial for understanding and supporting linguistically diverse learners' development and contributes to the mission of improving educational programs for children with disabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Drive to and from Metro-Nashville elementary schools using personal transportation or rideshare.
  • Administer Spanish and/or English assessments to elementary-age children with fidelity.
  • Score and enter data into a secure data management system.
  • Collect survey data from students' parents for the study.
  • Prepare reports and analysis for data tracking.
  • Follow all research protocols and communicate with the Principal Investigator regarding any deviations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, human development, education, special education, or a related field.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English, with proficient writing and conversational skills in both languages.
  • Experience working in research projects or elementary schools is highly preferred.
