About the position
The Bilingual Research Assistant position at Brown University provides essential research support for a Physical Activity research study. The role involves participant recruitment, conducting surveys, data entry, and assisting with document translation and editing. This is a fixed-term position requiring bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English, with a commitment to promoting a diverse and inclusive community.
Responsibilities
- Assist study team with recruitment of participants.
- Conduct phone and/or in-person surveys, visits, and measurements with study participants.
- Learn and follow protocols for baseline and follow-up measures.
- Contact participants, arrange and prepare for participant visits.
- Collect and enter process evaluation data, as needed.
- Assist the Project Director and research team with translation and editing of documents to be used in the study.
Requirements
- BA or BS in psychology, public health or related field with 1-2 years experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
- Must provide own transportation to research sites and be able to work evenings and weekends.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Motivated and self-starting.
- Knowledge of necessary research methodology; knowledge of health program planning, implementation, and evaluation preferred.
- Experience in programming online surveys (e.g., Qualtrics software) is preferred.
