About the position

The Bilingual Sanitation Technician is responsible for maintaining the sanitation of the building and equipment in a food manufacturing environment. This role involves following a Master Sanitation Schedule, performing various cleaning tasks, and ensuring compliance with food safety and safety regulations. The technician will work as part of a team and must demonstrate mechanical aptitude and excellent safety habits.

Responsibilities

• Maintain building and equipment in a proper sanitation condition under the direction of the Sanitation Lead.
• Clean building and equipment following a Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS).
• Disassemble and assemble equipment as instructed for cleanout and disinfecting.
• Perform PH tests using test strips and interpret results correctly.
• Perform Quat-Test concentration and verify results.
• Correct sanitizer concentrations above 200PPM.
• Recognize soil types and use proper chemicals for removal.
• Understand and follow dry and wet cleaning procedures.
• Monitor and clean rodent traps, recording in proper report form.
• Maintain and record activity of insect control devices (Insect-o-cutter).
• Use all sanitation equipment safely and correctly.
• Work as a member of a team.
• Differentiate PH levels for adjusting and neutralizing solutions.
• Protect product from contamination while completing assigned tasks.
• Inspect equipment before and after cleaning for possible contamination.
• Report any acts or conditions that may place the product at risk.
• Learn and follow safety rules, ensuring compliance among technicians.
• Follow LOTO Procedures when necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Experience in sanitation in a food-manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to read and write.
• Mechanical aptitude with the capability to learn and follow instructions for disassembly and reassembly of food processing equipment.
• Demonstrate excellent safety work habits.
• Work harmoniously with other employees as a team effort.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
