About the position

The Bilingual Senior HR Generalist at Alliant Insurance Services plays a crucial role in partnering with management and staff to provide high-level consultative advice aimed at optimizing employee relations and supporting recruitment efforts. This position serves as an employee advocate, objectively investigating employee relations matters while maintaining a strong knowledge of employment law, legislative changes, and legal trends that impact Human Resources and the organization. The Senior HR Generalist is expected to provide comprehensive support across various HR functions, ensuring that the organization adheres to best practices and legal requirements in all employee-related matters. In this role, the Senior HR Generalist will provide employee relations support for needs such as organizational development, performance management, coaching and counseling, and separations. They will be responsible for investigating reported incidents, making recommendations, and drafting responses to external third parties when necessary, collaborating closely with legal counsel. The position also involves program management of the legal aspects of the hiring and background screening process, serving as the primary contact for third-party vendors, and facilitating management compliance with company hiring and employee relations protocols. Additionally, the Senior HR Generalist will provide HR support during acquisition integration, track and manage employee relations data for presentation and trend analysis, and assist during peak recruiting periods by generating offers of employment and participating in job requisition activities. They will also provide consultation and support to other HR team members administering leaves of absence, manage the secondary stage of workers' compensation, and provide high-level benefits administration support, including conducting annual open enrollment meetings. The role requires tracking and reporting department employee relations metrics and performing other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth operation of the HR department.

Responsibilities

  • Provides employee relations support for needs such as organizational development, performance management, coaching/counseling, and separations.
  • Investigates reported incidents, makes recommendations and conclusions.
  • Drafts responses to external third parties when necessary and collaborates with legal counsel.
  • Program manages legal aspects of the hiring/background screening process and serves as primary contact to third party vendor.
  • Facilitates management compliance of company hiring and employee relations protocols.
  • Provides HR support during acquisition integration.
  • Tracks and manages employee relations data for presentation and trend analysis purposes.
  • Assists in peak recruiting periods; generates offers of employment, participates in backup activity involving job requisitions, sourcing, and/or college internship program.
  • Provides consultation and support to other human resource team members administering leaves of absences.
  • Manages secondary stage of workers' compensation which includes return to work program, report analysis, research claims, and correspond with insurance provider and employees.
  • Provides high level benefits administration support; conducts annual open enrollment meetings.
  • Responds to inquiries for outsourced unemployment administrator and attends hearings.
  • Tracks and reports department employee relations metrics.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Six (6) or more years related work experience; HR Generalist experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to easily communicate with members of senior management.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to work within a team and to foster teamwork.
  • Good problem solving and time management skills.
  • Good planning, organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to successfully mediate and resolve conflict.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish.
