We celebrate and thrive on our differences and welcome everyone's unique contributions. Join the NVFS Family: We are looking to hire a Bilingual Social Worker to join the NVFS Youth Initiatives team! As the Social Worker, you will provide community-based clinical case management services to youth receiving funding through the Children's Services Act (CSA), that provides funding and multi-disciplinary planning to help meet the needs of children with significant emotional or behavioral challenges and their families in Virginia. You will focus specifically on youth and families who are Spanish speaking and/or immigrant families and eligible for support through CSA. In this role you will serve as the Lead Case Manager for the youth and their family. Your Future Team: The Youth Initiatives Programs of NVFS utilize a highly effective, trauma-informed, culturally relevant service model to provide multi-modal "neighborhood based-school connected" services designed to ensure that at-risk immigrant youth and families are able to thrive in their chosen communities; succeed academically and socially; and that the communities themselves are equipped to prevent future community and family violence. The complex issues facing low-income immigrant families living in high crime, high poverty neighborhoods require a comprehensive prevention, intervention and therapeutic approach that centers on youth in the context of the family and community.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical case management services for a culturally diverse population of youth and their families including: Administration of the CANS, Assisting individuals and their families with access to services and supports, Collection and summary of relevant history and assessment data, Development of the Individualized Family Service Plan/Mutual Assessment Plan for community-based services, Liaison between the family and service providers, Attendance and provision of behavioral health care expertise at any necessary Family Resource Meetings and Family Planning Meetings, Quality assurance of service provision by monitoring direct service providers and progress towards goals by maintaining regular contact with clients and team members, Documentation of activities in agency electronic health care record in compliance with State Performance Contract, team practice and contract agreements, Completion of the responsibilities assigned to CSA case managers and TBP participants in local CSA policy
- Collaborate with other providers to ensure holistic service provision.
- Perform other indirect service activities that may include: program development, community outreach, or Agency committee work.
- Assure confidentiality policies and procedures are followed to protect the rights of clients, that reports to authorities occur in the mandated time frames and that critical incident reviews related to these procedures are completed and filed.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Counseling.
- Oral and written fluency in English; Spanish language fluency. Additional language skills always welcome.
- At least two (2) years of related direct service experience providing individual and/or group services to youth and families, case management, and working with youth with behavioral health care needs is preferred.
- Experience providing services to Spanish speaking immigrants and recently reunified families and youth strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in usage of basic technological tools including laptops/computers, email, phones, and internet. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

- Must clear Motor Vehicle Record check, have valid U.S. driver's license, and have own transportation in order to transport clients.
- Must have reliable transportation to visit client homes and other designated community locations.
- May be called upon to work beyond normal working hours.
