The Bilingual Home Visiting Public Health Nurse II position at Washington County's Public Health Division focuses on providing essential services to pregnant and parenting families through home visits. The role involves supporting families with newborns, offering education on childhood development, coordinating care, and connecting families to community resources. This position is integral to the Family Connects Program, emphasizing the importance of health literacy and preventative care for mothers and children.

Responsibilities

• Provide home visiting services to pregnant and parenting mothers, families, infants, and children.
• Assist families in problem-solving and connecting to resources.
• Educate parents on breastfeeding and childhood growth and development.
• Weigh and measure infants, perform developmental screens, and assess needs for community resources.
• Coordinate care with primary care providers and other community providers.
• Provide health literacy and parenting education on preventative health care.
• Administer immunizations and specialty follow-up as needed.
• Offer prenatal education and care coordination for pregnant women.
• Follow up on post-partum depression and refer to mental health and substance abuse providers.

Requirements

• Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited school of nursing, or an Associate's Degree/Diploma in nursing with additional public health training and two years of relevant experience.
• Current license to practice as a registered nurse in Oregon or ability to obtain it within 30 days of appointment.
• Ability to pass Spanish bilingual fluency assessments.
• Valid driver's license in Oregon with an acceptable driving record.
