About the position

The Bilingual Spanish/English Special Education Evaluator at Achieve Beyond is responsible for conducting evaluations for children with developmental disabilities in various settings, including homes and schools. This role emphasizes collaboration and support among therapists to provide high-quality services while adhering to ethical standards. The evaluator will work primarily with children aged birth to five years, ensuring that evaluations are conducted in the child's primary language and that all reports are submitted timely and confidentially.

Responsibilities

  • Administer evaluations in home and/or school-based settings
  • Write comprehensive evaluation reports and submit them in a timely manner
  • Determine need for additional assessment per observation and child need
  • Conduct evaluations in the primary language of the child
  • Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families in accordance with HIPAA and State & Federal regulations and submit records to agency within established deadlines

Requirements

  • NYS Certified Special Educator: Students with Disabilities (Birth-2) or Permanent Special Education certificate
  • Bilingual Spanish is a must; Bilingual extension necessary for provision of services in the preschool program
  • Experience administering the DAYC-2 and HELP
  • Experience evaluating children birth - five years old is a plus
  • Completion of the EILN Intro and Advanced Assessment trainings is required
  • Self-motivated, team player, and able to exercise patience and professionalism
