About the position

The Bilingual (Spanish) Kindergarten Teacher at Paterson Public Schools is responsible for providing a supportive and positive learning environment for students. This role requires the teacher to assume professional responsibility for the learning experiences and supervision of assigned students, ensuring that they receive quality education in accordance with the New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS) and mandated state testing requirements. The teacher will work closely with students, staff, parents, and the community to foster effective communication and collaboration. The ideal candidate will possess a New Jersey Instructional Teacher Certification with a Bilingual Endorsement, demonstrating their capability to teach in both English and Spanish. The teacher will be expected to create engaging lesson plans, assess student progress, and adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students. Experience working with elementary, middle, or high school students is essential, as is the ability to maintain a positive classroom climate that encourages student participation and learning. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the Bilingual Kindergarten Teacher will also engage in professional development activities to enhance their teaching skills and stay updated with educational best practices.   • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish.
  • Classroom experience and supervising experience.
