About the position

The Bilingual Spanish Speaking Teacher for Grade K is a vital role within our educational institution, aimed at providing high-quality bilingual education to young learners. This position requires a passionate educator who is not only fluent in Spanish but also possesses a deep understanding of the pedagogical strategies necessary for teaching in a bilingual environment. The teacher will be responsible for creating an engaging and inclusive classroom atmosphere that fosters the academic and social development of students. In this role, the teacher will collaborate closely with grade-level colleagues to design and implement individualized instruction that is both rigorous and accessible. The teacher will utilize their knowledge of the WIDA Standards and New Jersey State Learning Standards to guide their instructional planning and assessment practices. Additionally, the teacher will be expected to communicate effectively with students, parents, and the community in both English and Spanish, ensuring that all stakeholders are engaged in the educational process. The successful candidate will also be responsible for assessing student progress and utilizing data to inform instructional decisions. This includes understanding child growth and development, effective classroom management techniques, and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of all learners. The position is set to begin on September 1, 2024, and is essential for supporting our mission of providing a comprehensive bilingual education to our students.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized instruction in Spanish to Grade K students.
• Collaborate with grade-level colleagues to enhance bilingual strategies.
• Utilize WIDA Standards and New Jersey State Learning Standards in lesson planning.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and the community in both English and Spanish.
• Assess student progress and use data to inform instructional practices.

• Demonstrate knowledge of child growth and development in instructional practices.

Requirements

• Hold a New Jersey Teacher Certification P-3 with Bilingual Endorsement.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English and Spanish.
• Knowledge of the WIDA Standards and mandated state testing.
• Understanding of New Jersey State Learning Standards.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
• Experience working with students across various grade levels and content areas.
• Knowledge of assessment and data analysis for instructional purposes.
