About the position
The Bilingual Team Lead (2nd Shift) at DSV is responsible for coordinating and supervising operational activities within the warehouse, ensuring that all processes related to warehousing, receiving, and shipping are executed efficiently and in alignment with company objectives. This role involves training associates, overseeing shipping and receiving operations, maintaining quality control, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. The Team Lead will also assist in labor management and participate in various operational meetings to enhance productivity and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Mentor and train new and existing associates in distribution activities.
- Supervise and coordinate unloading of inbound shipments and the picking and staging of outbound shipments.
- Verify required inbound/outbound paperwork with drivers and ensure proper counting of products.
- Efficiently load orders according to appropriate doors and trailers.
- Conduct customer communications professionally and prepare activity reports for management.
- Ensure all products and orders meet quality standards and report any damages or discrepancies.
- Execute all safety protocols and maintain cleanliness in the warehouse.
- Direct the operations of the warehouse work team to achieve productivity objectives.
- Assist in maintaining employee levels consistent with a productive workforce.
- Participate in department meetings and report non-conformities to the Quality Department.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1 year experience in a logistics/distribution environment.
- Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with RF scanners and WMS functions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision.
Nice-to-haves
- 2-4 years experience in a warehouse/logistics/distribution environment.
- 2-4 years forklift experience.
- Current or prior MHE certification.
