About The Position

The Biller in Patient Financial Services is responsible for managing the billing process for primary and secondary claims related to various health system services. This role ensures timely and accurate submission of claims, follows up on unpaid claims, and resolves issues that prevent account resolution and payment. The position requires strong multitasking abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication skills with payers and patients.

Requirements

• High school diploma required; Associate or Bachelor's degree in business, health care business administration, or a medical-related field preferred.
• Minimum of one to two years of insurance/medical billing office experience required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with web-based client payer portals.
• Proficiency in Epic billing modules.

Responsibilities

• Bill and resolve primary and secondary claims for health system services.
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of paper and electronic claims in compliance with payer regulations.
• Follow up on unpaid claims and first pass denials by contacting insurance companies, patients, and employers.
• Resolve obstacles preventing account resolution and payment.
• Demonstrate proficient use of web-based client payer portals and Epic billing modules.
• Maintain professionalism when communicating with payers and patients.
