About the position

The Billing Account Manager at BioReference Labs is responsible for providing professional billing expertise, including billing portal setup, client education, and problem resolution. This role focuses on meeting revenue cycle targets, improving account-level revenue, and ensuring compliance with federal guidelines while serving as a liaison for customer billing issues.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed Revenue Cycle Targets and goals.
• Make client visits to key clients to review, resolve, and reduce billing errors.
• Coordinate with the Sales Department for collaborative client visits to new or existing accounts.
• Act as a liaison for customer billing issues and communicate them to the appropriate person or department.
• Follow up with clients for final resolution of billing issues.
• Act as the customer's contact for any billing-related issues.
• Meet biweekly goals and monthly production standards as assigned by management.
• Improve revenue at an account level through education and strategic plans, including crosswalks and medical billing policy guidance.
• Educate client staff on laboratory billing policies and procedures and provide training on the client portal.
• Understand and adhere to compliance and federal guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School degree required; BS or BA preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in healthcare or a related setting.
• Prior experience in problem solving, customer service, and related functions in healthcare, hospital, or physician organization.
• Attention to detail.
• Excellent computer skills, including MS Office and familiarity with medical billing software.
• Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Analytical skills and a drive to succeed with high initiative.
• Knowledge of billing terms, CPTIV and ICD10, and federal payer guidelines.
• Knowledge of laboratory billing is preferred.
• Ability to learn new systems and processes.
• Hands-on experience and ability to work closely with other company units and team members.
