About the position

The Billing and Accounts Receivable (AR) Accountant at PollyEx is responsible for managing customer invoicing and accounts receivable processes in a fast-paced SaaS environment. This role involves generating invoices, resolving billing discrepancies, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the monthly financial close process. The position offers an opportunity to work with emerging technologies and contribute to enhancing customer experience through efficient financial practices.

Responsibilities

  • Generate and process customer invoices accurately and timely.
  • Review contracts and sales orders for proper invoicing according to company policies.
  • Track and resolve discrepancies or billing issues.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of customer billing and payment history.
  • Proactively manage accounts receivable with timely follow-up on outstanding invoices.
  • Assist with the monthly financial close process, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Support the preparation of monthly financial reports and variance analysis.
  • Identify opportunities for streamlining invoicing and collections processes.
  • Assist in implementing new accounting software or processes for efficiency.
  • Prepare documentation for audits and respond to auditor inquiries.
  • Assist in other ad-hoc projects as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in accounting, focusing on US GAAP accounting.
  • Proficiency with accounting software (NetSuite, Maxio) and strong Excel skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and accounting best practices.
  • Experience in collections and handling customer communications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with revenue recognition standards (e.g., ASC 606).
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
  • CPA certification is a plus.
