About the position

The Billing and Payroll Customer Service Benefit Specialist at Aon is a virtual role focused on providing exceptional customer service related to various benefit programs. The specialist will utilize their extensive knowledge of benefits to assist clients, handle inquiries, and maintain accurate records. This position requires strong communication skills, the ability to multitask, and a commitment to professionalism while managing client interactions and administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-level customer service utilizing knowledge of benefit programs and client systems.
  • Handle inbound and outbound client calls, documenting and resolving inquiries as needed.
  • Process policy claims and cancellations, ensuring accurate documentation and follow-up.
  • Maintain organization of premium contribution information and online customer/policy data.
  • Assist with accounting tasks, including contacting clients for payments and resolving billing discrepancies.
  • Support team members with new business case implementation and customer changes.
  • Maintain good communication with carriers and advise management of any issues affecting service levels.
  • Train new employees as assigned and adhere to work schedules.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in the healthcare insurance industry with excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and legal documents.
  • Proficient in MS Office, with intermediate skills in Excel for data management.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong business relationships and handle sensitive situations.
