About the position

As a Billing and Payroll Customer Service Benefit Specialist at Aon Corporation, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service to clients regarding their benefit programs. This virtual position allows you to work flexibly from anywhere in the continental United States. Your primary responsibility will be to utilize your extensive knowledge of all benefit programs offered, the client base, and the systems in place to assist clients effectively. You will be expected to exhibit excellent communication and listening skills, enabling you to handle various client inquiries and provide them with the necessary product information to make informed decisions about their benefits. Your day-to-day tasks will include managing inbound and outbound client calls, documenting inquiries, researching issues, and ensuring all necessary actions are taken to resolve client concerns. You will also be responsible for maintaining and organizing premium contribution information, as well as managing online customer and policy information for both Aon and its carriers. Additionally, you will handle policy claims, cancellations, and client address changes, ensuring that all work is completed accurately and professionally. In this role, you will contribute to the overall customer service goals by maintaining established phone metrics such as Average Speed of Answer and Abandonment Rate. You will be expected to keep your knowledge current regarding the services and assistance you provide, processing all incoming work volume within established goals. You will also assist with various accounting-related tasks, including contacting clients with delinquent accounts and ensuring accurate billing records are maintained. Collaboration with assigned Account Executives and sales producers will be essential as you support new business case implementations and address client issues. Responsibilities

  • Provide high-level customer service utilizing extensive knowledge of benefit programs.
  • Handle all inbound and outbound client calls, documenting inquiries and taking necessary actions.
  • Manage policy claims, cancellations, and client address changes.
  • Maintain and organize premium contribution information and online customer/policy information.
  • Contribute to customer service goals for Average Speed of Answer and Abandonment Rate.
  • Process incoming work volume within established goals and parameters.
  • Assist with accounting-related tasks, including contacting clients with delinquent accounts.
  • Support assigned team in new business case implementation and existing customer changes.
  • Maintain good communication and rapport with carriers.
  • Perform on-the-job training of new employees as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in the healthcare insurance industry working with all product lines.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to utilize basic mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and legal documents.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collect data and draw valid conclusions.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite, with intermediary skills in Excel.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong business relationships.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
