About the position

The Billing Associate at Ankura plays a crucial role in the Accounting & Finance team, primarily focused on facilitating the invoice process and ensuring accurate billing and revenue recognition. This remote position requires strong accounting knowledge and a growth mindset, emphasizing innovation and process improvement. The ideal candidate will work during US Eastern or Central time hours and contribute to a collaborative and continuous learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the invoice process by loading time and expense details into an Excel template and distributing it to Project Managers/Senior Project Managers.
  • Assist with drafting and finalizing invoices directly in Workday.
  • Maintain data and project integrity within Workday.
  • Generate Workday reports as required to manage projects.
  • Post items in Workday and on shared drive as needed.
  • Create and manage billing related accruals.
  • Complete ad hoc requests, including reporting that requires use of Excel formulas to prepare and present information.
  • Act as a liaison between PM/SPM and accounting to ensure billing and revenue recognition is accurate.
  • Read, understand, and implement contracts, agreements, terms, and conditions to support billing.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of project/contract set-up performed in Workday.
  • Assist the e-Billing team with invoice submission, accruals, and follow-up regarding invoices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or a minimum of 4-6 years business experience.
  • Finance or accounting background preferred.
  • Understanding of general accounting principles as they apply to Billings and A/R.
  • Able to effectively communicate through verbal and written correspondence.
  • Apply logic and common practice to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and specific service level metrics.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good judgment.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
