About the position

The Billing Coordinator, GVMP Billing is responsible for supporting the professional billing process in Grand View Medical Practices. This role involves closely monitoring all outstanding accounts receivable to ensure the timely and accurate processing of all claims for services rendered to patients. The Billing Coordinator must possess strong communication skills to effectively interact with providers, patients, and payers.

Responsibilities

  • Possesses a thorough understanding of managed care contracts and their limitations.
  • Acts as liaison between all insurance company representatives.
  • Stays informed of third-party regulations and requirements by reading newsletters and periodicals published by different insurance companies.
  • Maintains working knowledge of CPT and ICD10 codes.
  • Responsible for the collection process, including evaluating and reporting delinquent accounts to the collection agency.
  • Calls patients for overdue balances and sends collection letters.
  • Makes deposits of all processed checks for the day.
  • Checks to see if deposits from all GVMP offices are equal at the end of the month.
  • Prints patient statements and submits patient claims electronically or on paper as indicated.
  • Locates EOB's and receipts as well as medical charts.
  • Keeps track of problems and resolves issues.
  • Processes refunds and credits for patients and insurances.
  • Processes capitation checks and reports.
  • Maintains a full understanding of the different insurances and how they are billed.
  • Understands and submits claims via web to MA.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED, Required.
  • Minimum of 3 years professional medical billing experience.
  • Experience in medical accounts receivables/resolution.
  • Experience in insurance claims adjudication.
  • Working knowledge of CPT and ICD10 codes.
  • Experience in claims submissions.
  • Familiarity with payor portals.
