Billing Coordinator

About the position

The Billing Coordinator at Caraday Healthcare is responsible for managing billing processes and claims for skilled nursing facilities. This role involves data entry, problem-solving, and documentation follow-up to minimize billing errors and enhance revenue collection. The position requires a solid understanding of various insurance billing practices and the ability to handle patient inquiries and collections effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assist in billing and processing claims including proper data entry and documentation follow-up.
• Review and appeal denied and unpaid claims.
• Verify patients' insurance coverage and answer billing questions.
• Handle collections on unpaid accounts and manage accounts receivables.
• Review coding information and finalize medical records.
• Post payments and produce patient statements.
• Create and maintain required billing reports and records.
• Bill via billing software and invoice via invoicing software.
• Validate incoming information and correct patient information as necessary.

Requirements

• 5+ years of skilled nursing facility insurance billing experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Strong attention to detail.
• Advanced computer knowledge, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with PCC & SimpleLTC software.
• Ability to multi-task.
