About the position
The Billing Coordinator at Caraday Healthcare is responsible for managing billing processes and claims for skilled nursing facilities. This role involves data entry, problem-solving, and documentation follow-up to minimize billing errors and enhance revenue collection. The position requires a solid understanding of various insurance billing practices and the ability to handle patient inquiries and collections effectively.
Responsibilities
- Assist in billing and processing claims including proper data entry and documentation follow-up.
- Review and appeal denied and unpaid claims.
- Verify patients' insurance coverage and answer billing questions.
- Handle collections on unpaid accounts and manage accounts receivables.
- Review coding information and finalize medical records.
- Post payments and produce patient statements.
- Create and maintain required billing reports and records.
- Bill via billing software and invoice via invoicing software.
- Validate incoming information and correct patient information as necessary.
Requirements
- 5+ years of skilled nursing facility insurance billing experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Strong attention to detail.
- Advanced computer knowledge, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with PCC & SimpleLTC software.
- Ability to multi-task.
