Billing Processor

About the position

The Billing Processor role at Republic Services, Inc. involves performing various routine billing functions under direct supervision. The primary purpose of this position is to ensure the accurate and timely preparation of bills for customers based on service contract terms, while also addressing related billing inquiries and discrepancies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly billing adjustments and enter them into the billing system following standard operating procedures.
• Research and resolve routine billing questions and discrepancies, referring unusual problems to higher-level personnel.
• Review invoices for completeness and accuracy, following up with customers or other staff to resolve discrepancies.
• Calculate and prepare basic manual billings for non-complex billing arrangements as needed.
• Gather and summarize supplemental billing information to meet customer requirements.
• Review billing system reports to identify discrepancies and make necessary corrections.
• Post cash receipts to customer accounts based on lock box reports and local cash receipt listings.
• Process credit card payments from customers over the phone and manage recurring payments.
• Complete customer setup in company billing systems as required.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in billing or accounting preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
