About the position

The Billing Receivable Specialist is responsible for managing the company's accounts receivable functions, which includes processing invoices, collecting payments, and resolving discrepancies to ensure timely collections. The role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, particularly within the construction industry, and involves collaboration with various teams to ensure compliance and efficiency in financial processes.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and issue client invoices based on contractual agreements and project milestones, ensuring compliance with project terms.
  • Assist the AR Manager in collection efforts for the Business units.
  • Collaborate with the Quantity Surveyor and other cross-functional teams to gather necessary documentation for invoicing and resolve any issues promptly.
  • Proactively collect releases from vendors that have filed notices to Owners.
  • Reconcile accounts receivable transactions, ensuring the integrity of financial data and maintaining accurate records.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports related to accounts receivable, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Support audits by compiling necessary documentation and responding to inquiries related to accounts receivable processes.
  • Drive the development and implementation of improved processes and systems for accounts receivable management to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in accounts receivable, ideally within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word); experience with ERP systems is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to build strategic relationships.
  • Notary license.
  • Meticulous and highly organized, proven to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Construction laws and Lien experience.
  • Florida Laws experience.
