About the position
The BIM/CAD Specialist - Plumbing Systems at Gibson Plumbing Company is responsible for creating and maintaining Revit models for plumbing systems in commercial projects. This role involves collaboration with the Pre-Construction and Production Departments to ensure cost-effective modeling that reflects real-world installation techniques. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and possess strong communication skills, with a background in plumbing or construction being advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Create, update, and maintain Revit models for new and active commercial projects.
- Assist in the development of In-House BIM and CAD standards.
- Develop and maintain Plumbing BIM templates, families, schedules, parameters, details, and libraries.
- Provide BIM production support for project teams.
- Attend weekly multi-disciplinary coordination meetings with General Contractors and report BIM clash progress to project teams.
- Assist in training of internal BIM/CAD users.
- Verify BIM Models adhere to internal and client-specific goals and standards.
- Monitor project delivery to ensure compliance with the agreed-upon strategy, standards, and work processes.
- Resolve conflicts between design and construction documents as per specifications and contract requirements.
- Work with the MEP to produce high-quality rendering and design to meet client needs.
- Support various teams by scheduling discussions/meetings and following up on training needs and project delivery.
- Produce penetration and As-Built CAD documentation and dimensioning through production team guidance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or related field is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and related software is required.
- Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.
Nice-to-haves
- Plumbing or construction experience is a plus.
