About the position

The BIM Drafter (Revit Specialist) at Conti Federal Services will play a crucial role in the successful modeling, coordination, and communication of BIM-specific requirements for various projects. This position involves transforming rough sketches into detailed technical drawings and ensuring adherence to drafting standards while collaborating with engineers and designers. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in BIM software and contribute to the overall success of the projects by producing accurate visual representations that meet client needs.

Responsibilities

• Meeting with engineers, designers, and trade partners to review design drawings and specifications.
• Inputting design specifications into the CAD software.
• Creating 2D drawings and 3D models according to client specifications and site needs.
• Working with a design team, coordination team; and individually on Autodesk BIM and CAD projects.
• Reviewing BIM and CAD projects with the client and site; and making adjustments.
• Conducting final model detailing (LOD 350); rendering and delivering the final 2D/3D product.
• Supporting the creation of job reports.
• Exercising a high level of professionalism and confidentiality when working with staff, projects and proprietary information.
• Developing models for specific construction coordination and as-built purposes.
• Ensuring that the 3D model scope and LOD aligns with the standards and goals set in the BIM project workflow criteria including 2D contract documents.
• Collaborating and coordinating internally and/or externally with other disciplines design changes and model changes.
• Creating discipline-specific BIM Modeling content.
• Developing accurate construction drawings and extracting data based on the discipline BIM platform.
• Coordinating drawing documentation as a methodology with full utilization of BIM software and tools (Revit/Autocad/Recap/Dynamo).
• Preparing project-specific training documentation, and templates.
• Maintaining proficiency in using Revit to provide technical support and mentoring as needed to the project team.
• Managing and maintaining project content and sourcing any additional content as required.
• Understanding and ensuring any changes in procedure and standards are effectively communicated to project teams.
• Coordinating and managing BIM project data sets/workflow and project set up.
• Communicating effectively and offering cross-team support.
• Setting up linked models and coordinating models across disciplines.
• Daily model management administration and maintenance.
• Occasional travel to various project sites.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen for Security Clearance Requirements.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a four-year college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least two years of BIM experience authoring and drafting models using programs such as AutoCAD, Revit, Dynamo, as well as project management environments (ACC/BIM360, CMiC, or Procore).
• Revit/CAD Certification.
• Previous experience as a BIM specialist and/or CAD technician.
• Advanced knowledge of BIM, and Revit/Autocad/Recap software.
• Ability to read and translate blueprints and technical drawings.
• Basic understanding of building design, laser scanning, and mechanical coordination processes.
• Direct experience working with multi-discipline project teams.
