About the position

The position of BIM Manager at Erie Insurance involves leading and overseeing the implementation and management of Building Information Modeling (BIM) strategies, processes, and workflows. This role is critical in driving efficient collaboration among project teams, enhancing project delivery, and ensuring ongoing maintenance-friendly coordination of BIM modeling, asset tracking, and space management assistance. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the implementation and maintenance of BIM processes, architecture, and standards across the Corporate Services Division. This includes developing and enforcing BIM execution plans, templates, and workflows in collaboration with BIM and project teams. In addition to leading the BIM strategy, the BIM Manager will provide training and support to team members on Revit and BIM best practices, ensuring proficiency and compliance with established standards. The role also involves supporting the integration and maintenance of BIM/REVIT data with the Corporate Services' Integrated Workspace Management System (IWMS). Regular audits of BIM models will be conducted to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to BIM standards. The BIM Manager will also provide direction for asset data gathering and maintenance, including coding and equipment standards, while staying updated with the latest industry trends, software, and advancements in BIM. The position requires collaboration with outside contractors, vendors, design professionals, and architects to ensure successful project outcomes. The BIM Manager will play a key role in fostering a culture of innovation and accountability within the team, ensuring that all projects meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and coordinates the implementation and maintenance of BIM processes, architecture, and standards across the division.
  • Collaborates with BIM and project teams to develop and enforce BIM execution plans, templates, and workflows.
  • Provides training and support to team members on REVIT and BIM best practices, ensuring proficiency and compliance with established standards.
  • Supports the integration and maintenance of BIM/REVIT data with Corporate Services' Integrated Workspace Management System (IWMS).
  • Assists in the creation and maintenance of REVIT families, templates, and content libraries.
  • Conducts regular audits of BIM models to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to BIM standards.
  • Provides direction for asset data gathering and maintenance, including coding and equipment standards.
  • Stays updated with the latest industry trends, software, and advancements in BIM.
  • Works with outside contractors, vendors, design professionals, and architects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in architecture, engineering, or related field, required.
  • Four years of experience working with Revit and BIM processes and workflows required.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of BIM principles, methodologies, and industry standards required.
  • Proficiency in the use of Revit software, including advanced modeling, detailing, and documentation capabilities required.
  • Ability to lead BIM strategy/planning sessions and present information to Senior and Executive management.
  • Experience in developing BIM execution plans and standards required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Working knowledge and experience with Integrated Workspace Management Systems (IWMS) and Smart Client software is preferred.
