About the position

The BIM Program Manager at WSP USA will oversee the implementation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) systems to support the Federal Property and Buildings team. This role involves coordinating BIM efforts on multi-site design projects, ensuring high-quality production of design documentation, and maintaining compliance with industry standards. The position requires collaboration with architects, engineers, and project managers to deliver precise project drawings and models, while also providing technical guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate BIM implementation and drafting work product with architects, engineers, and project managers.
  • Oversee quality control standards for accurate BIM documentation and design.
  • Scope projects and formulate BIM execution plans in partnership with project managers.
  • Develop and enforce standard BIM and CADD practices for technical design assistance.
  • Assist with the development and scoping of medium to large-sized projects.
  • Monitor and assist cross-functional teams in executing project design work related to BIM.
  • Ensure compliance with guidelines and project-specific procedures.
  • Apply analytical techniques and software to solve complex engineering issues.
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies, clients, and technical staff.
  • Collaborate with professionals from various disciplines to provide solutions for clients.
  • Stay current with the latest BIM support practices and techniques.
  • Exercise responsible decision-making regarding company resources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or architecture.
  • 7 to 10 years of relevant post-education experience with prior BIM support experience.
  • Experience with public and private sector work.
  • Experience supporting project managers.
  • Advanced proficiency with drafting and design support principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in coordinating with clients and regulatory agencies.
  • Analytical mindset with sound judgement in decision-making.
  • Strong self-leadership and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with technical writing and office automation tools.
  • Well-developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and guide junior team members.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety policies.
  • Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Professional Engineer or Registered Architect licensure.
  • Ability to obtain a US Government-issued Secret clearance.
  • Expertise in reality capture workflow and its integration into BIM workflows.
