About the position

The BIM Technician at DuBois Consultants Inc. is responsible for generating surface and solid CAD models for civil engineering projects. This role involves creating construction drawings based on preliminary designs, adapting standard details to specific projects, and coordinating with various engineering disciplines. The technician will work under the supervision of an engineer and may collaborate with team members or work independently on projects.

Responsibilities

• Generate surface and solid CAD models for clients.
• Layout construction drawings based on preliminary design plans/models.
• Adapt standard details to specific projects.
• Detail unique conditions in construction drawings.
• Coordinate with other disciplines such as architectural, civil, mechanical, and electrical.
• Assist in setting timelines and budgets for projects.
• Make decisions regarding materials used in projects.

Requirements

• Associate degree or CAD Certification required.
• 3-5 years of experience with AutoCAD.
• 2 years of experience with Civil 3D.
• Working knowledge of Revit Structural is a plus.
• Strong writing and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in preparation and checking of civil site development design deliverables.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize duties.

• Familiarity with construction drawings and technical documents.
• Basic understanding of building design and structural processes.
• Good communication, leadership, and client management skills.
