About the position

The Customer Service Manager at Binny's Beverage Depot plays a crucial role in the daily operations of the store, reporting directly to the General Manager and Assistant Store Manager. This position is centered around enhancing the customer experience and fostering a positive service culture within the team. The Customer Service Manager is responsible for motivating and inspiring staff to meet store goals while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, particularly regarding safety and security. This role requires a strong leadership presence to guide the team in delivering exceptional customer service and driving sales.

Responsibilities

  • Create a welcoming environment for customers and respond promptly to inquiries and needs.
  • Observe staff interactions with customers and provide guidance to improve engagement.
  • Demonstrate leadership by providing high levels of customer service and handling complex sales situations.
  • Conduct new employee orientations and train Store Associates.
  • Utilize company tools to identify performance improvement opportunities and develop action plans.
  • Communicate regularly with the General Manager and Assistant Manager about business trends and staff performance.
  • Provide ongoing feedback and support to staff members regarding their performance.
  • Assist in the hiring process to fill open positions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards for store and associate appearance.
  • Plan and adjust schedules to maximize sales while adhering to payroll expectations.
  • Coordinate and execute merchandising and sales promotions accurately and timely.
  • Participate in continued education for product knowledge and professional development.
  • Assist management with inventory management tasks.
  • Perform all duties of a store associate as needed.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • 1-2 years of retail management experience with supervisory and training skills.
  • Ability to work full-time, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with staff and customers.
  • Ability to influence at all levels and work effectively within a team.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to read small type.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate business machines and electronic devices such as scanners and computers.
  • Ability to accurately count cash and make change.
  • Must be able to pass any applicable alcohol training class and maintain certification.
  • Ability to repeatedly lift 40-50 pounds and stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to follow directions and complete assignments as assigned.
