About the position

Southern Tennessee Regional Health System is seeking a dedicated Bio-Med Tech to join our team on a PRN (per diem) basis. This position is crucial for ensuring the proper functioning of medical equipment and support systems used in healthcare delivery. Under minimal supervision, the Bio-Med Tech will provide expert-level experience in the repair, calibration, and maintenance of medical equipment. The role involves executing professional-level inventory assessments and audits, as well as preventive maintenance of clinical equipment. The Bio-Med Tech will also be responsible for providing remedial corrective maintenance and maintaining thorough documentation of all service tests and maintenance performed on clinical equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the repair and maintenance of medical equipment, with a minimum of four years of related experience preferred. The position requires the ability to repair, install, maintain, calibrate, and inspect complex medical equipment, instrumentation, and systems. Additionally, the Bio-Med Tech will assign routine repairs, inspections, and installations to subordinates, observing their performance to ensure quality and safety standards are met. Preventive maintenance and electrical safety testing of clinical equipment, devices, and systems will also be a key responsibility, along with monitoring the completion of preventive maintenance activities performed by outside vendors. In this role, the Bio-Med Tech may supervise and instruct biomedical equipment maintenance personnel in the safe use, application, testing, and preventive maintenance of all types of clinical equipment technologies and systems. The position may also involve providing operational leadership to personnel and potentially serving as a temporary site manager in the absence of the Director or Supervisor. Responsibilities

  • Provide expert-level experience in the repair, calibration, and maintenance of medical equipment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in electronics or biomedical equipment technology preferred.
  • Minimum of four years of related experience in the repair and maintenance of medical equipment preferred.
  • Ability to repair, install, maintain, calibrate, and inspect complex medical equipment, instrumentation, and systems.
