About the position

UWorld is seeking a Content Developer with expertise in Biochemistry to contribute to the MCAT Question Bank and related projects. This role involves collaboration with a team of chemists to create high-quality educational content, ensuring alignment with standardized exam practices. The position offers an opportunity to work in a supportive environment focused on educational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Develop written and/or video content for the online MCAT Question Bank and the MCAT Biochemistry prep book.
  • Write MCAT Biochemistry passages and questions with comprehensive rationales.
  • Maintain and develop content to accompany the MCAT Biochemistry prep book.
  • Collaborate with editing and scientific illustration teams to create exceptional content that adheres to UWorld standards.
  • Apply knowledge reflecting standardized exam content for the generation of test questions.
  • Collaborate with management and team members during peak periods of new content development to ensure goals and deadlines are met.
  • Use constructive feedback to validate the accuracy and relevance of content developed by other team members.
  • Participate in ongoing performance evaluation of current test items in the question bank.
  • Respond quickly to user feedback and make necessary edits to question bank content.
  • Communicate effectively with the quality assurance team to resolve technical issues related to content in a timely manner.
  • Work with IT and other support teams to troubleshoot exam development issues that may arise.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Biochemistry, Biological Chemistry, or related field required; PhD preferred.
  • Undergraduate/Graduate GPA of 3.6 or higher.
  • Strong scientific writing background.
  • Research experience in Biochemistry or related fields (2+ years).
  • Biochemistry teaching experience at the undergraduate/graduate level (2+ years).
  • Passion for education and learning.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and acute attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and analytically.
  • Proven history of working independently while operating within a team environment.
  • Ability to provide, receive, and respond to feedback positively.
  • Ability to adapt quickly, brainstorm, multi-task, and collaborate in a team setting.
  • Proficient in MS Office/working knowledge of IT.
  • Proven ability to write high-quality MCAT-level questions and rationales.
