About the position

The Biodefense Instructor at Goldbelt Apex is responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive training program in biodefense tailored to the specific needs of the Army. This role involves collaboration with military and civilian experts to ensure the training is current and effective, focusing on protection against biological threats and the management of biological agent casualties.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and deliver a comprehensive biodefense training program tailored to the Army's needs.
  • Collaborate with civilian and military subject matter experts in Public Health, Infectious Disease, Laboratory Science, and Infection Control.
  • Serve as the primary instructor for protection against biological threats, including bioterrorism and pandemics.
  • Instruct on pathogen detection, response protocols, and laboratory safety.
  • Lead the Medical Management of Chemical and Biological Casualties Course (MCBC).
  • Instruct the Field Identification of Biological Warfare Agents (FIBWA) course.
  • Act as the Site Subject Matter Expert (SME) on tactics, techniques, and procedures for treating biological agent casualties.

Requirements

  • Minimum five (5) years of recent military experience as a Commissioned or Non-Commissioned Officer (E6 or O3 and above).
  • One year of specialized experience in designing, implementing, and facilitating biodefense or public health courses.
  • Recent experience as a 52 or 74 series AOC or 74 series MOS in the Army or equivalent in another U.S. Military Service.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting complex information clearly.
  • Detail-oriented with a strategic mindset and critical thinking abilities.
