About the position

The position involves conducting complex research and experimentation within the Lopez laboratory, focusing on the interactions between viruses and their hosts. The role requires serving as a subject matter expert, providing support and training, and may include participation in presenting research findings. The laboratory aims to understand how virus populations affect infected organisms and how these interactions influence virus evolution and maintenance in nature.

Responsibilities

  • Implement algorithms and computer software for analyzing omics-based data sets.
  • Develop data management and analysis solutions for large data sets.
  • Coordinate research projects with other investigators and institutions.
  • Participate in developing hypotheses and experimental designs.
  • Assist with reporting methods, data, and results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Relevant experience of at least 2 years.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Ability to reason and analytical thinking skills.
  • Experience with bioinformatics and bioinformatics tools.
  • Knowledge of biostatistics and computational biology.
  • Strong communication skills and group problem-solving abilities.
