About the position
The Biological Scientist (Environmental) position serves as the primary environmental program management specialist responsible for managing, executing, and overseeing environmental programs at the Department of the Air Force. The role involves ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local environmental laws and policies while providing advisory services on various environmental projects and functions.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and manage all aspects of assigned environmental programs.
- Execute assigned program elements in-house and by contract.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental laws and policies.
- Provide advisory services on specific problems, projects, programs, and functions in the assigned program area.
- Comply with health, safety, and environmental rules and procedures.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- At least one year of specialized experience at the GS-11 level or equivalent.
- Knowledge of professional environmental principles, practices, techniques, and procedures.
- Ability to troubleshoot environmental problems and investigate unsanitary conditions.
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to environmental compliance.
