About the position
The Biomaterials Co-Op position at Convatec involves progressing projects within the Biointerfaces and Advanced Biomaterials area, providing an opportunity for hands-on experience in a laboratory setting. The role focuses on testing and developing methods for medical device materials, with guidance from senior researchers, and aims to enhance the skills and knowledge of the co-op in the field of biomedical engineering and materials science.
Responsibilities
- Testing and test method development for medical device materials.
- Preparing samples and executing experiments.
- Troubleshooting experiments as necessary.
- Recording all data and conducting limited data analysis.
Requirements
- Initial laboratory experience (gained in class or during other research experience).
- Ability to experiment, troubleshoot, and learn by doing.
- Demonstrated understanding of general laboratory safety.
- Good organization and record-keeping skills.
- Independence and ownership in work.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with mechanical testing of polymers and/or cell culture.
- Experience with ELISA.
