About the position

The Biomedical Imaging Engineer is responsible for the daily service and repair of various imaging equipment, including Nuclear Medicine, MRI, CT, and Rad/Fluro modalities. This role involves providing on-site engineering support, performing maintenance and repairs, and ensuring high-quality service delivery to customers. The engineer will also monitor equipment safety and performance levels, conduct troubleshooting, and assist in training and development related to imaging technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily service and repair of designated imaging equipment across multiple modalities.
  • Provide on-site engineering support and maintenance for imaging equipment.
  • Administer inspections, investigations, calibrations, and repairs on imaging equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on assigned imaging equipment.
  • Expedite resolution of service issues to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Maintain assigned equipment at 96% plus clinical availability.
  • Document and record repair information in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a basic understanding of PACS and hospital networking.
  • Consult with end users and management on emerging imaging technologies.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of training materials related to imaging equipment.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Licensure/Certifications as required.
  • Vendor Level Certification.
  • 2-4 years of experience working on the repair of electronic and mechanical equipment.
  • 12 months of current technical experience specific to imaging modalities.
  • Strong technical background in one or more Medical Imaging disciplines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with PACS systems.
  • Knowledge of hospital networking protocols.
