About the position

The Biomedical Imaging Engineer at NewYork-Presbyterian is responsible for the daily service and repair needs of various imaging equipment, including Nuclear Medicine, MRI, CT, and Radiography/Fluoroscopy. This role involves providing on-site engineering support, performing maintenance and repairs, and ensuring high-quality service delivery. The engineer will also be involved in troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and maintaining documentation related to imaging equipment. This position is full-time, with a day shift from Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for daily service repair needs of designated imaging equipment.
  • Provide on-site engineering support and perform maintenance and repairs on assigned imaging equipment.
  • Administer inspections, investigations, calibrations, and repairs on imaging equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on imaging equipment.
  • Expedite the resolution of service issues and ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Perform 80% of repairs and 100% of calibrations on equipment.
  • Monitor and maintain an assurance plan for equipment safety and performance levels.
  • Analyze, review, and inspect findings to determine the source of problems and perform corrective actions.
  • Maintain all appropriate history and documents related to assigned equipment in the imaging database.
  • Consult with end users and management on emerging technologies related to imaging equipment.
  • Conduct basic on-site in-service training on proper operation of instrumentation.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities by identifying and escalating process and product quality gaps.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Vendor Level Certification.
  • 2-4 years of experience working on the repair of electronic and mechanical equipment.
  • 12 months of current technical experience specific to imaging modalities.
  • Strong technical background in one or more Medical Imaging disciplines.
