About the position

The Biomedical Technician plays a critical role in maintaining and repairing dialysis machines and water treatment equipment at dialysis clinics. This position ensures that all systems operate according to strict specifications and regulatory requirements, contributing to the overall quality of patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee repair and maintenance activities on water treatment equipment, dialysis equipment, ancillary equipment, test equipment, and the physical plant for assigned facilities.
• Document all repairs and maintenance per applicable policies and/or procedures.
• Work on low and high voltage equipment.
• Purchase and maintain inventory of medical supplies and service parts.
• Support and participate in the Quality Assessment and Process Improvement (QAPI) process.
• Train facility staff to ensure all regulatory and OSHA requirements are met.
• Perform water/dialysate sample collection and processing per applicable policies and procedures.
• Review, evaluate and report water/dialysate quality results per applicable policies and procedures.
• Transport equipment and supplies as needed between facilities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
• AA Degree in electronics/biomedical technology, or equivalent preferred.
• Biomedical Industry Technical Certification preferred.
• Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) certification must be maintained and current.
• Valid Driver's License issued in the employee's state of residence.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to comprehend and communicate in the English language.

Nice-to-haves

• Willingness to attend out of state certification training if required.
• Attendance at all technical training programs required by state/federal regulations.
