About the position

The Biomedical Equipment Repair Engineer 1 at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is responsible for performing diagnostic repairs and preventative maintenance on biomedical equipment. This full-time position involves overseeing equipment inspections, repairs, and ensuring compliance with safety standards while providing excellent customer service. The role includes participation in an on-call rotation and requires a strong background in biomedical equipment repair or healthcare settings.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic repairs and troubleshooting using electronic mechanical training and standard equipment knowledge.
• Complete and oversee assigned preventative maintenance and other scheduled services, including installations and special projects.
• Contact vendors for contracted maintenance, oversee vendor performance, and monitor completion.
• Maintain accuracy of equipment inventory, including tagging, inspections, and scheduling.
• Document service events in the service management system database to ensure accurate history of maintenance and repairs.
• Maintain an accurate parts inventory in the service management systems.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Prior experience in the repair of biomedical equipment or in a healthcare setting is strongly preferred.
