About the position

As a Clinical Specialist at Brainlab, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the use of our Image Guided Surgery (IGS) products by conducting on-site clinical evaluations for both new and existing customers. Your primary responsibility will be to demonstrate the effective use of our products and services, thereby increasing their frequency and quality of usage in surgical settings. You will provide on-site consulting, guidance, and assistance to physicians and operating room personnel, evaluating options and problem-solving during surgeries to maximize efficiency and product utilization. In addition to direct support during surgeries, you will lead installations and ensure the functionality of our products at customer sites. Educating and training physicians and hospital personnel—including operating staff, Radiology, Central Sterile Processing, Biomedical, and Information Technologies staff—on the use of our surgery products and services will be a key part of your role. Your engineering expertise will also contribute to our quality improvement processes by recommending necessary product modifications based on your observations and interactions. As the primary customer liaison, you will maintain regular contact with customers, assessing their satisfaction and usage levels while working to increase revenue through the sale of service contracts, spare parts, upgrades, and more. You will regularly strategize with the Account Manager in your region to evaluate customer opportunities and open sales projects. Additionally, you will resolve product issues through detailed analysis and utilize your engineering expertise to ensure customer satisfaction. Keeping abreast of new developments regarding Brainlab and competitive surgery products and services through ongoing training and individual research will be essential. You will also have the opportunity to promote our surgery products and services to surgeons at trade shows, further maximizing customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Attend surgery continuing education annually and maintain annual product knowledge.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Biomedical Engineering, Biomechanical Engineering, Bioengineering, Clinical Engineering, Nursing or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years minimum of experience in a technical support role for a healthcare company or provider preferred.
  • 1-2 years minimum customer service experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of surgical procedures, anatomy and medical terminology preferred.
  • Proficient in the use of PC software applications including Microsoft Office.
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented and a proven history of ability to make independent decisions.
