About the position

The Biomedical Engineer (Clinical Specialist) at Brainlab Inc. is responsible for providing on-site consulting and support to physicians and operating room personnel during surgeries, ensuring the effective use of Image-Guided Surgery (IGS) products. This role involves troubleshooting product issues, training hospital staff, and acting as a liaison between customers and the company to enhance product usage and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site consulting, guidance, and assistance to physicians and OR personnel during surgery to maximize IGS product efficiency.
  • Analyze, resolve, and repair product issues through detailed analysis and engineering expertise.
  • Direct and assist Radiology staff in performing necessary scans prior to surgery.
  • Educate and train physicians and hospital personnel on the use of IGS products and services.
  • Develop and conduct training programs for hospital staff to implement in-house training.
  • Act as the primary customer liaison, maintaining contact with customers and assessing satisfaction and usage levels.
  • Work closely with various managers on market transparency, upgrade initiatives, and R&D projects.
  • Utilize engineering expertise to contribute to the quality improvement process by recommending product modifications.
  • Attend meetings and trade shows to demonstrate and promote IGS products and services.
  • Keep abreast of developments regarding Brainlab and competitive IGS products through ongoing training and research.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in a clinical or hospital environment, preferably with surgical support.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and resolve technical issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for training and customer interaction.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with medical staff and other departments.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Image-Guided Surgery (IGS) products and services.
  • Familiarity with Radiology and Central Sterile Processing operations.
  • Previous experience in a training or educational role within a healthcare setting.
