About the position

The Biomedical Engineer (Clinical Specialist) at Brainlab Inc. is responsible for providing on-site consulting and support to physicians and operating room personnel during surgeries. The role focuses on maximizing the efficiency and usage of Image-Guided Surgery (IGS) products, resolving product issues, and educating hospital staff on IGS technologies. This position also involves acting as a primary liaison with customers to assess satisfaction and drive revenue through product sales and upgrades.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site consulting, guidance, and assistance to physicians and OR personnel during surgery to maximize IGS product efficiency.
  • Analyze, resolve, and repair product issues using engineering expertise.
  • Direct and assist Radiology staff in performing necessary scans prior to surgery.
  • Educate and train physicians and hospital personnel on the use of IGS products and services.
  • Develop and conduct training programs for hospital staff for in-house training.
  • Act as the primary customer liaison, maintaining contact and assessing satisfaction and usage levels.
  • Work closely with various managers on market transparency, upgrade initiatives, and R&D projects.
  • Utilize engineering expertise to recommend product modifications for quality improvement.
  • Attend meetings and trade shows to demonstrate and promote IGS products and services.
  • Keep abreast of developments regarding Brainlab and competitive IGS products through ongoing training and research.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience in a clinical or hospital environment, preferably with IGS products.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and engineering expertise.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with training and educating medical staff.
  • Familiarity with Radiology and Central Sterile Processing operations.
  • Knowledge of market trends in medical technology.
