About the position

The Biomedical Engineer (Digital OR Clinical Specialist) at Brainlab Inc. is responsible for providing on-site consulting and technical support to physicians and operating room personnel during surgeries. This role focuses on maximizing the efficiency and usage of Image-Guided Surgery (IGS) products, while also educating and training hospital staff on these technologies. The position requires a blend of engineering expertise and customer service skills to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and effective product utilization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site consulting, guidance, and assistance to physicians and OR personnel during surgery.
  • Analyze, resolve, and repair product issues using engineering expertise.
  • Direct and assist Radiology staff in performing necessary scans prior to surgery.
  • Educate and train physicians and hospital personnel on the use of IGS products and services.
  • Develop and conduct training programs for hospital staff.
  • Act as the primary customer liaison, assessing satisfaction and working to increase revenue.
  • Collaborate with various managers on market transparency and upgrade initiatives.
  • Contribute to quality improvement processes by recommending product modifications.
  • Attend meetings and trade shows to demonstrate IGS products and services.
  • Stay updated on developments regarding Brainlab and competitive IGS products.
  • Achieve customer satisfaction in the technical support process by meeting deadlines and quality standards.
  • Support onsite network troubleshooting and maintenance issues.
  • Perform advanced technical troubleshooting for complex system issues.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience in a clinical or technical support role, preferably in a medical device environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for training and customer interaction.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various hospital staff and departments.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Image-Guided Surgery (IGS) products.
  • Familiarity with audio, video, control, and network systems.
  • Previous experience in a hospital or surgical environment.
