About the position

As a Biomedical Engineer II at Medtronic, you will play a crucial role in advancing sensor technology for diabetes management. This position involves engineering support for the development of micro-fabricated electrochemical glucose and multi-analyte bio-sensors. You will engage in the entire product development process, from ideation to regulatory submissions, while collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop clear and attainable project objectives, build project requirements, and manage the triple constraints of time, cost, and technical scope.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed project plan for the sensor subsystem and engage with the technical team to deliver on milestones.
  • Work across engineering teams to manage technical effort and design integration.
  • Manage technical risks and issues by developing and maintaining risk burndown plans and tracking metrics related to sensor performance goals.
  • Develop communication mechanisms to inform senior leadership and program stakeholders of program strategy, status, risks, and next steps.
  • Interface with key functions to align on stakeholder needs during technology feasibility and formal product development.
  • Develop a strong understanding of system interdependencies related to sensor signals and drive requirements accordingly.
  • Document and present work products to management and senior leadership.
  • Manage internal and external customers and design control procedures for project development efforts.
  • Help execute CGM R&D pre-clinical and human feasibility studies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other science-related field and 2+ years of R&D, product development, or program/project engineering experience.
  • OR an Advanced Degree in Engineering or other science-related field with no experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with design and manufacturing of medical devices.
  • Relevant experience in product development.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present information to cross-functional audiences including management.
  • Strong ability to interpret technical reports and statistical analysis.
  • Extensive experience with MS Project or similar software.
  • High degree of initiative and self-motivation.
