About the position

The Biomedical Engineer is responsible for planning, training others, and installing, maintaining, and repairing sophisticated medical equipment and systems used in patient diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring. This role involves performing scheduled and corrective repairs, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with safety standards, all while collaborating with various biomedical specialties and external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all phases of scheduled and corrective repairs of biomedical equipment and medical systems under supervision.
  • Conduct pre-issue and asset accounting, equipment installation, and de-installation as needed.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled inspections, maintenance, and electrical safety tests of biomedical equipment to maintain code compliance.
  • Document results of all inspections, maintenance, and tests accurately and timely.
  • Collaborate with other biomedical engineers and OEM representatives to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Travel frequently to provide service support and attend technical training as required.
  • Work afterhours and be available for on-call emergency service as scheduled.

Requirements

  • Minimum four (4) years of experience in biomedical engineering or related field.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
  • Valid unrestricted class C driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Experience and working knowledge of medical equipment and systems in general instrumentation or assigned specialty area.
  • Proficiency in operating PCs with Windows operating systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associates degree or equivalent in electronics, physics, or related science preferred.
