About the position

Apex Systems is seeking a Biomedical Engineer with over 3 years of experience to support federal clients in Madison, Wisconsin. The role involves developing educational programs for medical technology, managing safety alerts for medical devices, and serving as a subject matter expert in biomedical engineering. The candidate will also be responsible for project management related to medical equipment and technology deployment, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop a curriculum for a continuing education program on the safe and effective use of medical technology.
• Manage a recall and safety alert program for medical devices, ensuring compliance with patient safety goals and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct capital asset and infrastructure planning for medical equipment, from concept to implementation.
• Advise clinical and administrative staff on medical technology, including project management for deployment of medical equipment.
• Perform PM and CM maintenance actions on general biomedical equipment.
• Create and support biomedical equipment and device procurement packages for replacement and modernization.
• Manage task performance and tracking by BMET/BESS staff for medical device integration with Cerner electronic health record.

Requirements

• 3+ years of relevant experience in biomedical engineering.
• Knowledge of computer-based medical systems, networking protocols, and information security as it applies to medical technology.
• Competency in conducting a compliant medical equipment management program.
• Skill in communicating and collaborating with stakeholders at various organizational levels.
