About the position

The Biomedical Engineer will develop and implement innovative approaches for processing and analyzing medical imagery, focusing on improving surgical outcomes for prostate and colorectal cancer patients. This role involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to create a state-of-the-art device that utilizes advanced machine learning techniques to detect residual tumor cells during surgery, ensuring timely and accurate results for surgeons.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement approaches for processing and analyzing medical imagery.
  • Apply state-of-the-art machine learning techniques to medical data.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure project success.
  • Create a device for rapid scanning of tumor excisions with high resolution and precision.
  • Detect residual tumor cells on the surface of excised tumors during surgery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering or Computer Technology.
  • 3 years of experience in advanced computer technology.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ph.D. in a relevant discipline or a Master's Degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Applied machine learning experience.
  • Background in microscopy and/or digital pathology.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
