About the position

The Biomedical Equipment Repair Engineer 1 at Inova Loudoun Hospital is responsible for performing diagnostic repairs and preventative maintenance on biomedical equipment. This role emphasizes customer service and involves overseeing maintenance schedules, vendor performance, and ensuring accurate documentation of service events. The position is full-time, scheduled Monday to Friday, and will eventually participate in an on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic repairs and troubleshooting using electronic mechanical training and standard equipment knowledge.
• Complete and oversee assigned preventative maintenance and other scheduled services, including installations and special projects.
• Contact vendors to complete contracted maintenance, overseeing vendor performance and monitoring completion.
• Ensure accuracy of equipment inventory, including tagging, initial inspection, and maintaining the preventative maintenance schedule.
• Document service events on each medical device in the service management system database to maintain accurate history of maintenance and repairs.
• Maintain an accurate parts inventory in the service management systems.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Prior experience in the repair of biomedical equipment or in a healthcare setting is strongly preferred.
