About the position

The Biomedical Engineering Technician I role at Froedtert Hospital involves assisting in the installation, calibration, inspection, preventative maintenance, and repair of basic patient care equipment. This position is essential for ensuring the functionality and safety of medical devices used in patient care, contributing to the overall mission of patient care and innovation within the healthcare network.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the installation, calibration, inspection, and repair of patient care equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on medical devices such as patient monitoring and surgical devices.
• Conduct repairs on basic diagnostic and therapeutic equipment.
• Participate in on-call rotation as required.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Biomedical or Electrical Technology or equivalent military training required.
• 3 years of related experience in the repair and maintenance of medical equipment preferred.
• Familiarity with medical technology is required.
• Knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical, and electro-mechanical systems is necessary.
• Strong analytical skills and critical thinking ability are essential.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Valid WI driver's license is required.

Nice-to-haves

• Specialized training in medical technology service and support preferred.
• Experience with repair, installation, maintenance, calibration, and inspection of medical equipment preferred.
