About the position

The Biomedical Equipment Technician II at Agiliti is responsible for conducting cost-effective maintenance on medical equipment located primarily at customer sites. This role ensures that medical devices are functioning properly to meet customer needs, performing operational verification, preventive maintenance, and corrective repair services. The technician plays a crucial role in supporting healthcare facilities by ensuring quality medical equipment is available for effective patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts cost-effective equipment inspection, maintenance, calibration, and repair service on various medical devices.
  • Completes all paperwork and computer data entry accurately and promptly to ensure complete documentation for billing and regulatory compliance.
  • Communicates with clinical staff on the topics of equipment features, functionality, etc.

Requirements

  • An associate degree in electronics, mechanical engineering, or biomedical equipment technology.
  • Equivalent military training or Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) is acceptable.
  • Proficiency in completing preventive maintenance and repairs on a wide range of general equipment or demonstrated knowledge within a specialized equipment area such as anesthesia, imaging, network-smart technology, respiratory, or sterilizers.
  • Must hold a current, valid, and unrestricted driver's license with a safe driving record based on Agiliti policies.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to provide technical training to other employees in areas such as equipment operation, check-out procedures, preventive maintenance, repair, quality management, and/or ISO practices, procedures, and documentation.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as emergency off-hours as needed to support a 24/7 schedule.
  • Willingness to travel periodically to support business needs.
  • Ability to lift, push and/or pull up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to often bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time.
