About the position

The Biomedical Technician - Clinical Engineer at Dosher Memorial Hospital is responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance on electronic medical equipment. This role involves ensuring the proper functioning of medical devices through repairs, inspections, and documentation, contributing to the overall quality of patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on a variety of biomedical equipment including inspections, calibrations, adjustments, lubrication, and repairs or replacement components.
• Document equipment repairs and test new and repaired equipment before it is put into service.
• Maintain documentation of equipment histories, service manuals, and as-built drawings of system layouts.
• Respond to calls and complete work orders for routine and emergency repairs.
• Ensure an inventory of biomedical equipment, replacement parts, and standby equipment is maintained for patient care.
• Provide technical support for new and replacement biomedical equipment and review work performed by outside service vendors to ensure specifications are met.
• Keep up to date on current developments in biomedical equipment and systems as required.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all nurse call systems.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Electrical Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Certification as Clinical Engineer preferred.
• Five (5) years of on-the-job experience in electronics.
