The Biostatistician/Data Analyst will work at the Regional Perinatal Center in Valhalla, NY, focusing on analyzing and presenting data related to neonatal and maternal health outcomes. This role involves utilizing advanced statistical methods to assess quality measures and outcomes, collaborating with healthcare professionals, and providing insights to improve public health initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Analyze NY Statewide Perinatal Database System (SPDS) NICU Module and Electronic Birth Certificate (EBC) data for quality measures and outcomes.
• Utilize higher-level statistical methods such as Multivariate Regression and Statistical Process Control (SPC) for data analysis.
• Export, merge, and maintain quality of SPDS NICU & EBC module data for analysis.
• Analyze and present NICU infant growth and other key measures using graphical presentations and SPC.
• Test continuous data for normality and apply non-parametric tests where necessary.
• Analyze demographic information to control for socioeconomic status in outcome analyses.
• Create reports based on data analyses for quality of data and outcomes.
• Prepare presentations and detailed site visit reports for Quality Assurance meetings.
• Attend and participate in off-site affiliate or NY State Department of Health meetings.
• Enter patient data into the NICU Module and assist affiliate hospitals with data requests and analyses.
• Create graphs, tables, and PowerPoint presentations to demonstrate trends in data.

Requirements

• Master of Science (MS) in Biostatistics or equivalent required.
• Experience with regression analysis and statistical methods.
• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint for presentations.
