The Channing Division of Network Medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston is seeking a Biostatistical Analyst to join their team. This position involves designing and performing statistical analyses on large datasets derived from various studies focused on chronic lung disease. The Biostatistical Analyst will work independently under the guidance of the Principal Investigator, engaging in the design and execution of statistical analyses of clinical, biobank, and omic datasets, which may encompass genetics, epigenetics, RNA, miRNA, and metabolomics. A significant aspect of this role includes data curation, cleaning, and the application of complex statistical models. The primary focus will be on creating and curating clinical data utilizing electronic medical records, followed by comprehensive analyses of these datasets. In this role, the Biostatistical Analyst will conduct research and develop statistical models for analysis, inference, and prediction from multiple large datasets, all while adhering to rigorous principles of reproducible research and data documentation. Collaboration with biobank and bioinformatics staff is essential for ensuring data cleaning and quality control of genomic datasets. Regular reporting of data curation and analysis to the Principal Investigator and collaborators is expected, along with contributions to scientific literature, reports, journal publications, and presentations in collaboration with investigators and trainees. Additionally, the analyst will assist in the orientation and training of post-doctoral fellows and other personnel as needed.
